Stars Open Camp in Soggy Weather Houston, TX(AP) - Shooting Stars kicked off preseason training this past Saturday with the hopes of improving a team on the verge of promotion.
With a good turnout of returning players and a few new recruits, the Stars were able to open camp in impressive fashion. Although the weather ended the training session early, they were able to get in a good hour of practice.
Returning center midfielder Temzie Ayoola told associated press that it's a new year with new challenges. "We need to score more goals and work harder in order to win games and gain promotion," he mused.
The team will hold one more practice before they begin their scrimmage schedule August 2 against International FC.
