Oriabure Names ‘Provisional’ Squad According to reports in Houston, James Oriabure has picked a provisional 22-man squad for SSFC’s Metro Tournament campaign. The main surprises, if the reports prove to be correct, are the omissions of midfielders Fatai and Habeeb Alabi , with Tope Ayoola, who has only played 3 games all season long with SSFC, being preferred instead.
Another strange occurrence is the fact that there are only five defenders in the squad, with seven attackers. Strikers Nnamdi Ohazurume and Ikechukwu Ofili were brought in to booster an offense that only scored one goal in three games last month in the HFA tournament.
There are no surprises in midfield, as it is widely expected that Speedy Mike and Elijah will fight it out for the final position in a department that virtually picks itself. Camp opens Friday, May 16 at Eldridge.
